You sure are a glutton for punishment Ty, first all the Pen fan keyboard warriors on twitter, and now your calling down the wrath of the Hockeybuzz Penguin fan (i'm sure the unbiased Hab fans will chime in as well) keyboard warriors too

BM was far and away - for my money at least - the best player in the tournament by a mile - was always making plays and buzzing around - really turned it up in my eyes -

Perhaps you should of watched all the games in the tournament. Forget the fact that he lead in points, because that's not even the reason it was obvious that Crosby should of won it.

Crosby didn't have spurts where he looked good like your boys. Crosby literally stood out from everyone else the entire tournament. He looked again like the best player in the world, and to be honest, it wasn't even close.

I agree with your Kessel comment, that could of went either way. This tournament though.... Crosby was by far the most dominant player.

Couldn't agree with this more. Kessel was robbed from the Conn Smythe largely from the Toronto media voters who didn't even have him in the top 3. Not that Crosby wasn't right there with him, but I think Kessel deserved it.

In this tourney, as much as I dislike Marchand and this is hard to say, he was fantastic. But Crosby was still the clear winner. As you mentioned, he led the best line in the tournament all tournament long. He was strong on the puck everywhere on every shift.

If leading the tourney in points isn't enough, and you want to factor in big time goals, I think TY is leaving the Russia game out of the conversation. Crosby singlehandedly stole the puck from three players to score the first goal. He then made great plays to setup Marchand for the tying goal shortly after Russia went up 2-1. Marchand did his job and buried the goal, but he was shooting into an open 4 x 6 thanks to Crosby. That goal changed the whole tide of the game and led to Canada winning. I think Marchand was easily #2 in the voting for MVP, but I don't think he leads in goals if he doesn't have Crosby on his line, who contributed on freaking 42% of all goals Canada scored in the tournament.

Bruins fans have to be happy, Marchand and Bergy are going to be a solid 1-2 punch for the next few years.

Crosby deserved the Smythe and Crosby deserved World MVP. If you had to remove one of Crosby/Marchand from that line, do you think the other would produce at the level they did?

Crosby would produce at that level with anyone. Marchand (while a great player) is not at the superstar level.

Crosby consistently displays why he is the best player alive but everyone female doges when we give him the recognition he deserves.

I am no fan of Marchand, but given the he scored multiple clutch goals it should have been his MVP award. I get that Crosby is often the best player on the ice at any given time, but scoring clutch goals in the playoffs or a tournament for that matter is usually a go-to MVP guideline.

They put Crosbys name on the MVP trophy when they put Canada on the championship trophy , when they thought this whole money grab up.

Crosby deserved the MVP and it isn't even a question. The voting was "lazy" because it was obvious. Marchand was fantastic for the whole tournament (minus game 2 of the final up until the winning goal), But Sid was dominant.

Crosby deserved it, Marchand was awesome but Bergeron made so many "small" plays it was unbelievable. The whole line was F'n crazy good.

Boston is an unbelievably amazing sports town and I despise the teams but the first thing they should find a way to do is somehow get Crosby on the Bruins!

Marchand was very good and a beneficiary of Crosby's efforts. I'm not a fan of either the Bruins or Pens, but it's no question that Canadian hockey commentators were virtually unanimous that Sid has re-established himself as the best player in the world, a bit in doubt after his poor start to last season.
As for the Conn Smythe, Crosby deserved that also. Letang however was critical to the Pen's success. Without him Pitt does not win.
